The Back to School Drive is an annual outreach designed to help students begin the school year with the supplies they need. Backpacks and essential school items are collected through contributions from individuals, churches, ministries, organizations, and community partners across Hamilton.
Supplies are gathered based on the Hamilton City School supply list, ensuring students receive items that are relevant and needed for the school year. This includes standard school supplies as well as items such as earphones and personal care products.
Each year, these resources are organized and distributed through a structured and accessible process, allowing students and families to participate and receive support during a key seasonal transition.
How It Works
• The Back to School Drive takes place annually prior to the start of the school year
• Children may arrive with their families, and transportation is also provided for those who need access
• The event is open to the community with no pre-registration or identification required
• Basic family information is collected at arrival to support organization and follow-up
• Students of all ages receive supplies tailored to their grade level and school requirements
• Dinner is provided, along with a live entertainer and activities for children
• Families have the opportunity to learn about additional weekly and seasonal programs offered throughout the year
• Volunteers and staff coordinate registration, distribution, and event flow to ensure a structured and welcoming experience
